Confesiones de un inglés comedor de opio

A masterpiece of confessional literature

It is a fascinating testimony that combines psychological introspection with poetic prose.

Why is this book still relevant?

More than two centuries later, De Quincey's confessions continue to captivate readers. The book is also a window into Victorian society and the Romantic mindset.

What can we learn from De Quincey's experiences?

De Quincey not only describes his addiction but also reflects on the nature of pleasure, pain, and memory. His observations on how opium alters the perception of time and imagination are profound. Although not a self-help book, it offers lessons on the dangers of dependence and human resilience.
